Commentary on Bible Versions

People occasionally ask which Bible translation we endorse, emphasize, and use at Remnant Christian Assembly. We understand many Bible translations to be of the New Age variety? For this reason, we focus on the King James translation. We also spend time looking at the original Hebrew and Greek to properly understand what’s said. The following video provides insight about many of the Bible translations circulating in the world today.

A combination of the KJV, language dictionaries (e.g., Strong’s, Zodhiates, Semantic Domains, Vines, etc.), and other supplementary resources such as Manners and Customs of the Bible, it is rather easy to understand the original meanings behind any statement contained in the scriptures, again, considering a person has ears to hear what the Spirit is saying.

Some of our key thoughts about this topic include the following:

  • Some people believe the hype that the KJV is difficult to understand. The truth, it’s written at a 5th-grade reading level. The scriptures can’t actually be understood by anyone who has not been given ears to hear, so it’s not about the (supposed) translation issue.
  • Several of the more popular translations of the day were produced at higher reading levels. Hence, the supposed mindset that they’re easier to read is a misdirect and simply false.
  • The NIV removes several passages from the scriptures, making it an extremely untrustworthy resource AND dangerous for someone who truly believes.
  • The Amplified Bible is extremely complex AND inserts terms that are not accurately reflective of their Hebrew and Greek counterparts.
  • The Living Bible is not a translation, but an extremely subjective interpretation of the statements contained in the scriptures — not based on the original language.
Check out the video for more details on what constitutes a New Age Bible version.

Cry Madness

Here’s the scenario. People are in a church service. The facilitator of the service, usually the […]

Nobody’s Perfect

Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace. — Psalm 37:37 Perfection is an issue that is often brought up in Christian circles. Oddly, however, it’s not usually discussed within the spectrum of what’s on the mind of the Lord. This is something that has been on […]
